Federal Aviation Administration to Utilize CAP Index "CRIMECAST'' System for Facility Security Program

FAA to Make CAP Index CRIMECAST(TM) Data a Critical Component in Assessing Vulnerability Levels at Over 1,000 FAA Facilities

CAP Index, Inc., the world leader in crime vulnerability and loss prevention analytics, today said that the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has purchased CAP Index's CRIMECAST system. The contract includes a multi-regional CRIMECAST system software license, user training, and consulting services. The CRIMECAST system will be used to help assess and monitor crime vulnerability at over 1,000 FAA facilities across the United States. Terms of the contract were not announced. The FAA's installation of the CRIMECAST system is underway.

CAP Index CEO, Robert M. Figlio, said: "We are proud and excited that the FAA has selected our CRIMECAST crime and risk analytics technology as an element in the FAA nationwide facility security program. We look forward to working with the FAA on its data-driven approach to planning and implementing effective security safeguards at its facilities, thus helping to ensure the highest possible level of security for FAA employees, assets, and information."

After 15 years of research, development, and broad adoption by thousands of corporations, the CAP Index CRIMECAST analytics system is the single most accurate predictor of crime vulnerability in the United States and Canada. CRIMECAST analytics utilize CAP Index's proprietary CRIMECAST Model, which is based on the strong relationship existing between a neighborhood's "social disorganization" and the amount of crime that is perpetrated there.

By combining surrounding social characteristics, survey information and other databases with known indicators of crime, the CRIMECAST model is able to provide precise scores indicating a specific site's risk in comparison to national, state/province, and local averages. CRIMECAST scores range from 1 to 2000, with 100 representing average risk.
